Edward Rogers Jr., 41, of New Brunswick died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in North Brunswick on Dec. 8.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. at Mt. Zion AME Church, 39 Morris St., New Brunswick. Visitation will be 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Born in Jersey City, Edward resided here since 1984. He belonged to the Christian Motorcyclists Association and was a rider coach for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also belonged to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Rutgers Promenaders Square Dance Club and Green Valley Homeschool Cooperative. When he attended Rutgers University, he belonged to Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity.
A member of Mt. Zion AME Church, New Brunswick, he formerly belonged to the Trustee Board and was coordinator of the Homeless Shelter Program. He also belonged to the Sunday School and the Men's Club of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Stacey; four children, Cathlene, Edward III, Kristen Adele and Sarah Annmarie Rogers; two grandchildren, Antonio Rene and Jonathan Luis Ramirez; his mother and stepfather, Bobbi A. and Jerry L. Earls; a sister, Lisa Pilousky; 10 nieces and nephews, and his parents-in-law, John and Susan Fornkopf.
